About Joy Saunders
Experience
I have been working as a professional artist for over 15 years, specialising in painting with acrylics and mixed media. My work is featured in a number of well known galleries and in 2024, I was invited to take part in the Celebration of Welsh Contemporary Art Exhibition.
Style
I like to capture the colours and textures of nature and strive to create pieces that are both visually simplified but still impactful.
Style
Influenced by Kyffin Williams' limited colour palette, I paint with palette knives and finishing off with fine line brush work. My aim is to create pieces that capture the typical Welsh landscape and weather!
Style
My style is easily recognisable because of the muted colours I use and the precise way I use a palette knife to apply thick paint. I like to keep a tight composition and choose to omit some detail resulting in a clean and unfussy image.
